Ms. Spear

Tell us about your family. I grew up in Spokane and my family still resides there. My brother serves in the military, and my sister-in-law is a Nurse Practitioner. My aunt and uncle Barker, and cousins, the Clapp family, live here in the valley.
What was your school like growing up? I went to public school for Elementary, Middle and High school, then attended Seattle Pacific University. Throughout my schooling, I was involved in music, from the Spokane Youth Symphony to teaching private lessons.
Why do you like teaching? I am deeply passionate about mentoring students.
What’s your favorite Bible verse and why? 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” This verse speaks to me in two ways. The first is that, even while our lives are challenging and imperfect, God is abundantly faithful, and will guide us through any hardships that arise. The second is that, while we may doubt our inner gifts, God knows our fullest potential, and supports us as we face every measure of our lives. We are never alone, and we are capable of so much greatness through God who strengthens us.
