Mr. Faber

Mr. Faber graduated from SCHS in 2017 and Dordt University in 2021. We asked him a few questions to get to know him a little better; check them out below. Welcome to the SCS family, Mr. Faber! We are so glad you're here!
1. As a kid, what did you want be when you grew up? A professional athlete.
2. What’s the best thing you learned from your parents? Respect for God and others.
3. What stat for your life would you most like to see? My all-time shooting percentage in basketball.
4. What risks are worth taking? Calculated risks.
5. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to? John Wayne Faber.
6. What is one of your favorite smells? A brand new baseball.
7. If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what rule would you make? No one is allowed to drive 20 mph below the speed limit.
8. What is something you are certain you’ll never experience? Eating a vegetarian burger.
9. If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time? Go fishing.
10. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on? Going on a countrywide fishing trip in each of the 50 states.
11. How many states have you visited? And what state do you most want to explore? 12 states. Alaska.
12. What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way? Banking
13. What is your favorite Bible verse or passage and why? Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This verse reminds me that everything I do belongs to the Lord. I am not working to please anyone here on Earth but am doing it to praise God. This verse helps me stay positive even when doing the smallest tasks.
