Where are you from? I grew up in Zillah, Washington. I have two brothers who also graduated from SCS. Growing up I lived close to my grandparents and spent a lot of time on their flower farm.
What was your school like growing up? I went to Sunnyside Christian and had a great experience. The teachers were always caring and made learning fun. Now that I am going to be a teacher at SCS I am excited to be able to teach here and share the love of Christ that was shown to me when I went to school here.
Why do you like teaching? I like seeing the kids grow throughout the year and seeing the improvements they make on things that were harder for them at the beginning of the year. I love being able to encourage kids and watch them learn and interact with each other.
What do you like to do when you aren't teaching? When I am not teaching I love to work outside with flowers. Picking and arranging flowers is my favorite thing to do. I love to read a good book, watch movies, and take walks. I also love to go to Michigan to visit my extended family.
What's your favorite Bible story and why? My favorite Bible story is the story of Ruth. I recently finished a devotional on the book of Ruth and reading about how she left everything she knew behind for the unknown is a good reminder to me that no matter where God takes me, I know that He will always be with me working everything together for my good.
What's your favorite snack? I like cheese and crackers, yogurt with fresh fruit and smoothies.
