Remember to be Thankful!

Thanksgiving is approaching soon. Where does the time go? It amazes me how little attention this holiday receives. Businesses seem to move from Halloween to Christmas with merchandise. It seems people are so busy that very few of us will ever slow down enough to reflect on the blessings we have.

God has blessed Sunnyside Christian School beyond words. When we take a moment to count our blessings, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. He has provided SCS with many wonderful children and families. He has met our needs repeatedly. He has provided a great facility and all the supplies we need. Our busses have traveled for many miles over the years without incident. If we ever have a need, He supplies it. That alone is reason to celebrate and be thankful. But the blessings go on and on.

If we take a moment to look at our families, we will see how He has blessed us. We have homes in which to live, children to love, and our needs met. Above that, God has enabled us to provide a Christian education for our kids. We have health and strength to do the work God has called us to do.

But he goes a step further. God has given each of us the greatest gift we could ever receive. The God of the universe loves each of us individually and desires a personal relationship with us. The one free gift in this world is salvation because of the love of Jesus Christ.

The official Thanksgiving holiday lasts for a day, but the Christian’s celebration of Thanksgiving should happen every day. So in the busyness of your day to day routines, take a minute to reflect on how you have been blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving!
